How to Console a Crying Man

  1. If a man cries in front of you, let him. Most men never cry in front of anyone so if he's comfortable enough to do so around you, he probably needs the release and needs a friend to be there for him. Don't try to stop him.

    If your boyfriend or husband catches you with this other man crying on you, this would likely be the time to pull away from the crying man, unless you know that your man is okay with it and understands. If your man is not happy about the situation, you should put him above this other guy.

    Find out if the man wants to talk about what happened or if he just needs to be quietly sitting with someone. He may need to talk it out, or he might just need to get the tears out of his system. If the latter is true, don't pry.
     
  • Men have emotions, too. Do not see crying as a weakness, rather a strength that they are willing to show their true feelings.
  • Be bold and strong for your man. The fact that he is willing to cry on your shoulder means that he trusts you and respects your strength and support.
